Books and articles
- Gödel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter (1979)
- Course
of Theoretical Physics
- Flatland: A romance of Many Dimensions (1884)
- On the
Plurality of Worlds by David Lewis (1986) for the title alone
and the idea
- Max Tegmark universe (also like his paper image On the dimensionality of spacetime, this is also fun)
- Why does anything exist ? (2021)
- Vårt behov av tröst (Our Need for Consolation is Insatiable) by Stig Dagerman (1955)
-
In Praise of Idleness and Other Essays by Bertrand
Russell (1935) good reminder in these times.
Note : Even though it is fun to ponder about existential /
meta stuff i don't think there should be any attached meanings /
conclusion beyond what it is; playful thoughts. My view is that
everything we do is about some sort of play / game (preferably
Roger Caillois definition of game) which arise through
"idleness" and it makes up our world content through interaction
with others game (also meta games), rules may be different because
of differences between brains model / agency but there is nothing
wrong with that as long as everyone involved have their fun too !
So basically i don't take stuff above literally, i just enjoy it
for what i see in it : a playful and expanding view of things.
:)
Some books which had long lasting influence on me :
- Solaris by Stanisław Lem (1961) i also appreciate the movies although they have different focus
- Brigitte Fontaine writings
